ABOUT

The Sailors’ Church is an important religious and heritage site in Old Montreal. The attached museum in the former Bon-Secours school reflects the 2,000-year history of the site: the early Amerindians, the early days of Montreal with Marguerite Bourgeoys, first teacher and founder of the Chapel and the Congregation of Notre Dame, the birth of the English Catholic community in the 19th Century and the rising tide of immigration.
